The following notes will appear during Pastor Greg’s Sunday morning message.

“Dealing with Doubt”
Matthew 11

Read: Matthew 11:1-11

Matthew 3:7-9

Before wearing “many crowns” Jesus would wear the crown of thorns. Before the throne would come the cross.

Sometimes we need to go through the foyer of doubt to get into the sanctuary of certainty.

“Doubt is not the opposite of faith; it is an element of faith.”

1. Moses
(Numbers 11:14-15)

2. Elijah
(1 Kings 19:4)

3. The Apostle Paul
(2 Corinthians 1:8)

Doubt is a matter of the mind.
Unbelief is a matter of the will.

Bring your doubts and questions to Jesus.

Job 1:21-22

Matthew 11:3

Matthew 11:4-5

Matthew 11:6

Matthew 11:7-8

It’s not what others think of us or even what we think of ourselves that matters; what really matters is what Jesus thinks of us.

Matthew 11:11

John’s greatness was a direct result of his nearness and connection to Jesus!

John was a herald of the King; you are a friend of the King.

1. Jesus refocused John’s priorities.

2. Jesus brought John back to the Scripture.

3. Jesus kept right on with His purpose and asked John to not be stumbled or annoyed.

Read: 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

The only reason I can approach a holy and perfect God today is because of His sacrifice for me at the cross.

“An unworthy manner” means to partake of it with irreverence.
