Unchanging Hearts

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank . . .
When Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego were taken into Babylonian captivity, their world as they knew it literally changed overnight. They were taken away from the security of family and friends and placed in a hostile environment to their faith. Their world was changed, but their faith remained constant.
Maybe something similar has happened to you. Perhaps an event has taken place in your life that has shaken you to the core. Maybe your parents have divorced, or you have lost a loved one, or your spouse has left you. Something has shaken up your life.
I want you to know that just as God did not abandon Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, He has not abandoned you either. God has not forgotten about you. Nebuchadnezzar could change the world of these four young men of God, but he could not change their heart for God.
If you are experiencing a crisis in your life, I want you to know that God is with you and He will see you through it.
