“I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” —Genesis 15:1
Soldiers went into battle with shields the size and shape of small doors and were large enough to hide behind. God is our shield and whenever thoughts of doubt, fear, despair, or unbelief come our way, we can raise our shield of faith—faith in God and His Word.
Lord God, I take refuge in You. I raise up my shield of faith, trusting and leaning on You for protection from the fiery darts of the enemy. You are great enough to protect and defend me. Amen
Each month in 2012, we will highlight one of the “I AM” statements of our Lord to better understand who God says He is, and what it means to each of us personally.
