Have you seen the movie Eat Pray Love? It has the great glossy landscapes of a Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Italy, India, and Bali look oh-so-splendid. So does Julia Roberts—eating, cycling, laughing. But it is the message of the movie, wrapped in such self-absorbed spiritual jargon, that sickens me. read more...

There’s something about the changing seasons that makes one stop and reflect on seasons in our own lives. They seem to come in a variety of different packages; some we like and some we’d rather skip all together.
