There’s something about the changing seasons that makes one stop and reflect on seasons in our own lives. They seem to come in a variety of different packages; some we like and some we’d rather skip all together. God may bring seasons into our plans that don’t always fit in our parameters, but it is important to remember that the Lord orchestrates the different events of our lives for different purposes. Growing up, I had a beloved Uncle Jerry who was very competitive. Every time our extended family gathered together, he could be counted on to get out Uno, his card game of choice. Uno requires very little skill, save the ability to be the first to get rid of all your cards and declare yourself, very loudly, the victor! This, needless to say, was my very boisterous uncle’s favorite part of the game. read more...
