Third Day:
With 23 GMA Dove Awards, three GRAMMY Awards, an American Music Award, and multiple ASCAP honors for their songwriting skills, Third Day has helped define the Christian radio landscape for more than a decade. The band has scored 25 No. 1 singles and sold more than six million albums.
Mixing heartfelt worship with straightforward rock-and-roll, the members of Third Day aren't afraid to reveal their struggles and victories to reveal their identity, purpose, and mission through their music. Billboard Magazine described the band as "not only one of the best Christian bands of the '90s but one of the best rock bands, period."
Third Day recently released a live CD/DVD entitled Live Revelations, which has been nominated for three Dove Awards.
Chris Tomlin:
Chris Tomlin is the most-sung Christian artist in the United States, according to Christian Copyright Licensing International. He has won 16 Dove Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year (three times) and Artist of the Year (twice), and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards.
Chris came to prominence as a featured worship leader with the Passion Conferences and is still active with the organization. His most recent album, Hello Love (2008), reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and climbed as high as No. 9 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums chart. His breakthrough album, 2004's Arriving, was certified platinum in 2008.
Relient K:
One of Christian rock's most popular bands, Relient K combines the energy of pop-punk with keen, insightful lyrics on the human condition. The band has released five studio albums, seven EP's, two Christmas albums, and one collection of rarities.
Relient K was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2003 for Best Rock Gospel Album, and has won two Dove Awards. The band has played on the Vans Warped Tour, and performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show.
The band's last two full-length albums have debuted in Billboard's Top 20, most recently 2007's Five Score and Seven Years Ago, which entered the charts at No. 6. The band has sold more than two million records, with three albums earning Gold certification.
Skillet:
One of Christian rock's most popular bands, Skillet is a two-time Grammy Award nominee and has won one Dove Award for Rock Song of the Year. The band has had four singles make Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock charts, beginning with 2003's "Savior."
Skillet's new album, Awake, will be released on August 25, 2009.
The Katinas:
The Katinas are five brothers from a tight-knit Samoan family. Combining their native island style with their love of worship, James, Jesse, Joe, John and Sam have been singing together since they were children. With several No. 1 radio hits, and more than 500,000 albums sold, The Katinas have been nominated for a number of Dove Awards, including worship album of the year for 2002's Lifestyle.
The band will release its latest project, a live CD/DVD recorded in San Diego, in July 2009.
