The David Crowder Band
Hailing from Waco, Texas, worship group The David Crowder Band has been taking the Christian music world by storm since the release of their album A Collision in 2005. They are winners of multiple Dove Awards, including 2010 Praise and Worship Album of the Year for their newest release, Church Music.
Phil Wickham
Southern California native Phil Wickham began leading worship when he was just twelve years old. Since then he has gone on to record three albums, including his current release, Heaven and Earth, which enjoyed early success on the iTunes music charts. The album claimed the No. 2 spot on the Christian/Gospel album chart on iTunes, while the single "Safe" topped the Christian/Gospel singles chart at No. 1.
Sanctus Real
Since forming in 1996, Sanctus Real has been at the forefront of Contemporary Christian Music. Named the Most Popular Artist of the Year by R &R Magazine in 2006, the band has recorded five studio albums, had several number one songs, and has been nominated for numerous awards including the 2009 Grammy for Modern Rock Album of the Year. Their latest album, Pieces of a Real Heart, was released in March of 2010.
MercyMe
Since the release of their first studio album, Almost There, in 2001, Grammy-nominated, American Music Award and multiple GMA Dove Award winners MercyMe have been tearing up the music charts with an astonishing twenty-two number one hits. Billboard Magazine recently named MercyMe the number one Christian Songs Artist of the Decade and named their song "Word of God Speak" as the number one Christian Song of the Decade. The band's latest album, The Generous Mr. Lovewell, which was released on May 4th, debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and sold over 88,000 copies in its first week.
Steven Curtis Chapman
Steven Curtis Chapman is one of the most prolific singers and songwriters in Contemporary Christian Music today. The five-time Grammy award winner has released more than twenty albums to date, nine of which have been certified gold or platinum, and he has sold more than 10 million records. Seven-time GMA Artist of the Year, Chapman has received more Dove Awards than any other artist in history. In 2009 he released his latest album, Beauty Will Rise, a collection of songs written following the tragic death of his youngest daughter in 2008.
O.C. Supertones
One of the first widely successful Christian Ska bands, The O.C. Supertones first formed in the early 1990s. Their first album, Adventures of the O.C. Supertones, was nominated for a Dove Award, and their sophomore album, Supertones Strike Back, topped the Christian charts. After a career that spanned more than a decade, it was announced in 2005 that the band was splitting up, but this summer the O.C. Supertones are reuniting for a few shows.
Katinas
These five brothers, Sam, James, John, Jesse and Joe, are from the Samoan Islands and have been touring and recording together for the past 15 years. They have released several albums and most recently recorded their first album on their own record label, Destiny Productions, entitled Still. Following the devastation of the 2009 Samoa earthquake, the Katinas put on a benefit concert called "Hope for Samoa."
Revive
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Revive has developed a unique sound that unites their aggressive rock appetites with more mainstream pop sensibilities. Revive caught the attention of Third Day front man Mac Powell during a tour of Australia. Upon moving to Atlanta, the band signed with Essential Records and recorded its U.S. debut, with Powell handling production.
Revive has been constantly touring the country opening for artists like Big Daddy Weave, Sanctus Real, DecembeRadio, and, of course, Third Day. The vibrant Dove-nominated pop/rock outfit released its highly anticipated sophomore album, Blink, which released in 2010 and earned "Producer of the Year" accolades. They have earned a New Artist of the Year nomination from the Gospel Music Association's 2010 Dove Awards, and their hit single, "Blink," continues to climb the charts weekly on both Christian AC and CHR radio formats.
