Harvest Ministries Introduces New Harvest: Greg Laurie Universal App for iPad and iPhone/iPod, Making Videos, Bible Reading, Devotions, and More Available in an Instant
RIVERSIDE, Calif., December 21, 2010—Always a leader in embracing the latest technology to further the message of the gospel, Harvest Ministries (www.harvest.org) has rolled out version 3.0 of the Harvest: Greg Laurie iOS App. The new universal app is designed for both iPhone and iPad devices, a first for any evangelical Christian organization. The app is free of charge and available for download at http://apps.harvest.org.The Harvest universal iOS app will provide users with a number of features, including:
- live and archived video messages from Harvest events
- A New Beginning audio programs
- a library of devotional readings authored by Pastor Greg Laurie
- year-long Life Journal Bible Reading program
- evangelistic tools designed to help users share their faith
- easy access to Greg Laurie on social networks
Future updates will include an audio Bible and a new overview page.
Harvest Ministries launched its iPhone app in June, 2010. It has been downloaded by more than 22,500 people, who have used it for more than 256,000 hours to date. The release of the universal app tops off a successful year of online ministry in 2010. Over 2.1 million webcast streams of Harvest events were viewed online, over 5.2 million Harvest podcasts were downloaded, and more than 7,000 people indicated that they had received Christ after listening to the gospel online. Greg Laurie is the senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, one of the largest churches in the U.S. Laurie is also the founder and evangelist for Harvest Crusades, evangelistic outreach events that have drawn some 4.1 million people to stadiums and arenas around the world since 1990. Laurie serves on the boards of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.
