Harvest With Greg Laurie Marks 20th Year Of Evangelistic Outreach With Events Across The U.S.
Drawing More Than 3.8 Million People to Stadiums & Arenas Over the Past Two
Marking 20 years of large-scale evangelistic outreach that has touched the lives of people across the U.S. and around the world, Harvest with Greg Laurie has announced it will hold events in three cities in 2009. The Harvest with Greg Laurie events began in Southern California is 1990, and since that time, the outreach has drawn more than 3.8 million people to stadiums and arenas around the world to hear the unchanging message of God's love and redemption.In addition to returning to Angel Stadium of Anaheim (Aug. 14 – 16) for its 20th annual Southern California Harvest Crusade, Harvest with Greg Laurie will also make first-time visits to Rapid City, South Dakota, for the Black Hills Harvest 09 at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center (May 15 – 17) and to Long Island, New York for a two-night event at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater (June 13 – 14).
The Harvest with Greg Laurie events are known for relating to audiences through contemporary means like top notch music, live Internet webcasts and hosted video podcasts, but the crux of each event is the nightly message presented by Southern California pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie. Called the "evangelist of the future" by Billy Graham, Laurie draws on Scripture, flavored with personal and cultural examples, to describe the relevance of faith in today's world. Laurie's talks encompass topics that appeal to people of any age and answer questions like: Why am I here? Is God real? What happens when I die?
In addition to serving as the founder and evangelist for the Harvest events, Laurie is the senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., one of the largest churches in the U.S. He also serves on the board of directors for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.
