Harvest with Greg Laurie Announces 2010 Event Schedule
Harvest with Greg Laurie Marks 21st Year of Large-Scale Evangelistic Outreach with Events in Anaheim, Chicago, and Seattle
RIVERSIDE, Calif., April 9, 2010—Having drawn more than 4 million people around the world to stadiums and arenas for its unique brand of large-scale evangelistic outreach, Harvest with Greg Laurie will mark its 21st year by holding three U.S. events in 2010. The Harvest with Greg Laurie outreach will make its annual visit to Angel Stadium of Anaheim (Aug. 6–8), and will, for the first time, visit Chicago (Allstate Arena, Sept. 24–26) and Seattle (Key Arena, Nov. 5–7).Founded in 1990, The Harvest with Greg Laurie events are known for relating to audiences through contemporary means like top notch music, live Internet webcasts and hosted video podcasts, but the crux of each event is the nightly message presented by Southern California pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie. Called the "evangelist of the future" by Billy Graham, Laurie draws on Scripture, flavored with personal and cultural examples, to describe the relevance of faith in today’s world. Laurie's talks encompass topics that appeal to people of any age and answer questions like: Why am I here? Is God real? What happens when I die?
New this year, all three of the 2010 Harvest with Greg Laurie events will include a special Sunday evening program called "A Night of Hope," where Laurie will team up with Grammy Award-winning musician Steven Curtis Chapman to address issues of sorrow and the hope we have in Christ in the midst of sorrow. Both Chapman and Laurie lost children in automobile accidents in 2008, and share a common desire to offer hope and encouragement to people who are suffering loss.
Each of the 2010 Harvest with Greg Laurie events will be broadcast live via the Internet at www.harvest.org. Video podcasts and blog accounts of each message will also be made available at http://blog.greglaurie.com/, as well as "behind the scenes" updates from Greg Laurie on Twitter at http://twitter.com/greglaurie.
In addition to serving as the founder and evangelist for the Harvest events, Laurie is the senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., one of the largest churches in the U.S. He also serves on the board of directors for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.
