20th Annual "Southern California Harvest" with Greg Laurie to Stream Live Over iPhone, August 14–16
RIVERSIDE, Calif., August 13, 2009—Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the 20th annual "Southern California Harvest" with Greg Laurie this weekend, August 14–16, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, but this year, for the first time, the crusade will also be streamed live to iPhones.
All three nights of the Harvest outreach can be viewed by visiting www.harvest.org on an iPhone or an iPod Touch during the live webcast. The stream will work over 3G or Wi-Fi connections, and viewers need the new iPhone OS 3.0 software update to watch the crusade.
Founded by Riverside, Calif., pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie in 1990, the Harvest Crusades have been a fixture in Southern California since that time, and its cornerstone event held at Angel Stadium each year is the longest-running annual evangelistic outreach in the U.S. In addition to a nightly message from Laurie, this year's Southern California Harvest will also feature music from top name Christian artists including Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Relient K, Skillet, the Katinas, and Crystal Lewis.
All three evenings of the Southern California Harvest will be broadcast live on the internet at www.harvest.org. Video podcasts and blog accounts of each message will also be available at http://blog.greglaurie.com, and "behind the scenes" updates from Greg Laurie leading up to each Harvest event will also be available on Twitter at http://twitter.com/greglaurie.
With a trademark ability to present a straightforward gospel message in a culturally relevant format, drawing on the latest in current events, contemporary Christian music, and technology, Greg Laurie's Harvest events have drawn more than 3.8 million people to stadiums and arenas around the world since 1990. Laurie also serves as senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., one of the largest churches in the U.S., and serves on the board of directors for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.
