Integrity
People with integrity have firm footing, but those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall.
—Proverbs 10:9 NLT
Has anyone ever said you have integrity?
The Old Testament gives us examples of integrity. Their names are Noah, Daniel, Job, Esther, and Ruth. In the New Testament, Jesus never used the word integrity. He commanded it through descriptive lessons that called for a life of integrity (see especially Matthew 5–7).
Every Christian's life should be marked with integrity. And to help us hit that mark, here are six relevant reminders on living a life of integrity.
- Love God and others (see John 13:35).
- Have a pure heart and pure motives (see Matthew 5:8; Matthew 6:1–6).
- Set yourself apart for God's purposes—not your own (see Matthew 6:24).
- Be just, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (see Micah 6:8).
- Follow up your godly words with godly actions (see Matthew 5:37; Titus 1:16).
- Be spiritually disciplined: read the Bible, pray, share the gospel, and obey God (see 1 Corinthians 9:24–27).
