Greg Laurie Prays at GOP ConventionEvangelist Presents Gospel In G-O-P Convention Prayer
NEW YORK
Delegates to the Republican National Convention have heard a call to repentance and a straightforward presentation of the Gospel.
Last night's invocation was delivered by the Reverend Greg Laurie, a southern California pastor and evangelist. He confessed that America has turned its back on God and the "sanctity" of human life and the family.
But Laurie prayed, "You loved us so much that you sent your son Jesus Christ to voluntarily die on the cross for our sin, and if we will put our trust in Him we can be forgiven."
The Reverend Laurie also thanked God that President Bush, quote: "looks to You for wisdom each and every day" -- and he concluded his prayer in Jesus' name.
