Laurie to Participate in Tuesday Night Program, Along with First Lady Laura Bush and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

RIVERSIDE, Calif., Aug. 27, 2004—Southern California pastor Greg Laurie has been selected to deliver a prayer for the nation at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City next week. Laurie, pastor of the 15,000-member Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., will pray during the Tuesday, Aug. 31 evening program at 7:00P.M. (Eastern Time), the second day of the convention. Also scheduled to appear on Tuesday evening are First Lady Laura Bush, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Secretary of Education Ron Paige.
“People of faith play an important role in every election,” said Laurie. “Our beliefs motivate us to ask tough questions: What do we stand for? How can our faith serve the greater good? I am honored to pray for our nation in this forum.”
