HARVEST CRUSADES WITH GREG LAURIE BRINGS EXTREME SPORTS, MUSIC, AND FAITH TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, AUG. 8 - 10

Harvest Crusades Continues International Tour in Anaheim, Featuring Alt Rock Bands, Freestyle Motocross, 1000-Voice Choir, and a Life-Changing Message

RIVERSIDE, Calif., June 30, 2003 — Amidst freestyle back flips, screaming guitar licks, and a festival atmosphere, Harvest Crusades with Greg Laurie returns to Southern California for its 14th year, Aug. 8 – 10, bearing an extreme message of faith played out through a weekend of extreme activities.

The Anaheim crusade, Harvest’s third stop on a tour concluding in Australia and New Zealand, will take place at Anaheim’s Edison International Field, and is expected to draw thousands of people throughout the Southland, particularly the young and young at heart.

The Anaheim crusade will mark the launch of Harvest’s first-ever Summerfest youth event—a Saturday afternoon festival filled with Motocross and skateboarding exhibitions, music by Sonic Flood, Kutless, and The Elms, a Sports Zone, and a Kids Zone. The Freestyle Motocross exhibition will be led by top ten Motocross champions Jamie McGuire and Nate Adams (“King of the Back Flip”) while the skateboard exhibition will include pro skaters Anthony Carney, Blake Remmers, and others.

Harvest Crusade programs will also include the annual Saturday night Harvest Jam youth program, featuring music by Delirious? and Audio Adrenaline. A first-ever Sunday evening program called “A Night of Worship” will feature Dove Award-winning group Mercy Me, Tommy Walker, Lenny LeBlanc, Marty Goetz, and a 1,000-voice community choir.

“We love bringing the Southland community together through Motocross and popular concerts,” said Harvest Crusade founder Greg Laurie. “But the most exciting event is when people’s lives are transformed by the Gospel message they hear at the crusade.”

Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif. (the eighth largest church in the U.S.), founded the evangelistic, Southern California-based Harvest Crusades in 1990. Dubbed a “bang-up, new fashioned revival,” (The Orange County Register, July, 2001), the Harvest Crusades have drawn more than 2.8 million people to stadiums and arenas across the U.S. and Australia.
