Statement on the Passing of Ruth GrahamStatement from Greg Laurie on the Passing of Ruth Bell Graham
Greg Laurie remembers Ruth Bell Graham, the wife of evangelist Billy Graham. I was deeply saddened today to hear of the passing of one of the great women of the Christian faith in our time, Ruth Bell Graham.
It was my privilege to spend time in her home with her and the family she so loved. Ruth was the best example I have ever seen of a deeply spiritual, yet very down to earth, person. She was always quick to laugh, and had a twinkle in her eye I will not forget.
I remember one lunch she made for us in her home. She did the cleaning in her sink beneath a plaque she had hung there that read, "Divine service done here daily."

Ruth was an avid reader and always had amazing insights into God's Word that were such a blessing to hear. There would not have been a Billy Graham without a Ruth Bell Graham, and we will forever be thankful for her life and legacy.
Cathe and I are praying for Billy and the entire Graham family in this time of tremendous loss, yet rejoicing that they, and all who have put their faith in Christ, will see Ruth again. I look forward to that day.
