Season Launch ReleaseANNUAL EVENT BRINGS 1ST CENTURY MESSAGE
USING 21ST CENTURY MEDIUM
With More Action Than Ever, Greg Laurie and Harvest Crusades Kick-Off Their Twelfth Season July 4 – 8 at Edison Field in Anaheim
RIVERSIDE, CALIF., June 15, 2001 – Combining a timeless message with MTV-style music and staging, Harvest Crusades and Greg Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship and co-founder of Harvest Crusades, will bring their explosive 2001 kick-off event to Anaheim’s Edison Field July 4 – 8.
The event will be Harvest’s first five-day Crusade and will feature rock and alternative style bands, plasma screens, video monitors, videos and lights along with events and entertainment that combine the best of contemporary culture with the unchanging message of God’s love.
Beginning Wednesday, July 4, Harvest will host a 45 minute pre-Crusade concert featuring the popular Audio Adrenaline, and following the crusade will be their annual Fourth of July fireworks display. Each night following will host a new array of activities – from the Kids Krusade on Thursday to the Revolution Skateboard Exhibitions on Friday and Saturday to the car, bike and hot rod show on Sunday—that together form a culturally relevant bridge Laurie will cross to bring a message of hope.
“Harvest Crusades mix 21st century music and technology with a 1st century message,” said Laurie. “And the message is relevant no matter what the millennium.”
The Anaheim event kicks off Mission: California, Harvest Crusades’ 2001 season that includes events scheduled in Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Diego.
Each night of the Crusade (except for the Kids Krusade) will be webcast live on www.harvest.org and will be interpreted and translated into Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Arabic, and sign language.
Described as “the evangelist of the future” by Rev. Billy Graham, Laurie’s upbeat style appeals to teens, Gen-Xer’s and baby boomers alike. Through nationwide stadium events and international webcasts, Harvest Crusades have brought straight talk about life’s challenges and problems to more than 2.5 million people around the world.
