RIVERSIDE, Calif., Jan. 29, 2006—Joining Angelenos in prayer for their community and the nation, Riverside pastor Greg Laurie will give the keynote address at the 2006 Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, Saturday, Feb. 11, at 8 a.m. Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, will be a part of a program that also includes Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Pastor Jack Hayford (Church on the Way, Van Nuys), and Reverend John Hunter (First AME Church, Los Angeles).
"During the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, I look forward to offering some Biblical words of encouragement to the people of Los Angeles about how we, as Californians, can impact our city, our state, and the world," said Greg Laurie. "California is my home state and I have a special place in my heart for my friends in Los Angeles, having spoken there many times, and also broadcasting Harvest's radio and television programs in the city."
Actor Dean Jones will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the breakfast, and guests will include entertainer Rosey Greer, Los Angeles City Council President Alex Padilla, U.S. Congressman Xavier Becerra, City Council members, and County Supervisors. Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. will perform special music.
