Chris came to the crusade tonight not expecting much. In his life, he has faced numerous trials and much pain. Both of Chris’ parents have passed away, and the rest of his family is nowhere to be found. Due to all of the heartache Chris has experienced, he turned to a life of drinking and lived as much as he could in the world—yet still finding no fulfillment in its darkness. Three weeks ago, Chris attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on prescription medication, but God had a divine appointment with him. Chris attended the crusade all three nights with his youth group, but the last night of the crusade was when the message hit home. Pastor Greg spoke about family and the story of the prodigal son, how a life in the world will satisfy no need. Before Pastor Greg even finished giving the altar call ,Chris found himself making his way down. Once he reached the field, his knees immediately hit the grass. Filled with emotion, Chris stated, “I haven’t cried for eight years, but now I find myself crying for someone I love.” Chris’ life was impacted tonight, and now he not only has a family of brothers and sisters, but more importantly, a heavenly Father.
