The Crowd gathers
6:15 - Welcome to the San Diego Harvest Jam!! The stadium doors opened about 15 minutes
ago and people are beginning to fill the stadium seats. The Harvest Jam is geared towards the youth.
Tonight's musical guests will be All Together Separate, Audio Adrenaline, The Supertones, and
Jennifer Knapp.
6:54 - Many stadium seats are being filled in anticipation of tonight's jam! This is night
number two of the San Diego Harvest Crusade! Tomorrow night we will also celebrate Independence Day
here at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. We will not only here some great gospel music and a fantastic
evangelistic message by Pastor Greg Laurie, but we will conclude the evening with the largest fireworks
show in the San Diego area!
7:04 - Thousands of people are pouring into the stadium seats. Those in their seats are
challenging those on the opposite side of the stadium, shouting, "We love Jesus, yes we do! We love Jesus,
how about you?" Seconds later, the opposite side shouts back the same thing!!
Sing Praises to the Lord!
7:15 - All Together Separate is on stage now and opening in worship with "I Want to Know You,
Lord." They follow with "For the Lord is Good." The crowd is standing and clapping and singing along! Lead
singer Dex Alexander has a powerful voice and easily engages the crowd in worship. Completing this set
is "Mountains Tremble." What powerful lyrics this song has - "Open up the doors and let the music play, let
the streets resound with singing"....etc., etc.
7:35 - Pastor Greg Laurie approaches the platform and welcomes the crowd. He introduces Pastor
Ray Bentley of Maranatha Chapel to open this evening's crusade in prayer. Pastor Greg then introduces
Audio Adrenaline. They begin with their hit song, "My Father's House." This group is so full of energy
and really interacts with the crowd. Next they sing "We're a Band." Next they invite The Supertones to
join them on stage and together the two groups perform "Blitz." Mark Stuart of Audio encourages everyone
in the stands to raise their hands in worship. The Supertones take their seats on the platform and Audio
Adrenaline continues on stage by themselves. They ask Greg Laurie to join them on stage as they sing their
new song, "I Get Down and He LIfts Me Up." Mark gets off stage and goes right into the audience singing
and handing the microphone to people in the audience to join in! He returns to the stage and announces
that they will do one more song! They finish with "King of Kings."
8:00 - Pastor Greg prays for tonight's offering and then introduces a video which shows clips
from some of the previous Harvest Crusades as tonight's offering is taken.
8:05 - Pastor Greg introduces Jennifer Knapp. She opens with "Undo Me." Jennifer is a young,
extremely talented guitar player and singer. She was nominated for a "Dove" award this year. She follows
with "Whole Again." She shares that "Some may trust in Jeep Cherokees, some may trust in Ford Explorers,
but we should put our trust in the name of the Lord." Her closing song is called "In The Name."
8:20 - Pastor Greg introduces The Supertones. They are a ska band and begin with "Hoo - Hah!"
They next sing "Hallelujah" and encourage to crowd to dance if they can. Many are dancing in the walkways.
They are dancing and singing to "Hallelujah to the Lamb." They ask the crowd to scream as loud as they
can and then they perform "Today I make my Resolution." Lead singer Matt encourages everyone to sing
along with the final song, "There's No Life Away From You."
The Gospel is preached
Greg Laurie,
the pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship and featured speaker of the Harvest Crusades, will be sharing the message.
8:40 - Pastor Greg prays from the platform that eyes would be opened tonight as people hear the
gospel message. Pastor Greg shares the common questions that people ask, such as:
What's my purpose here?
Will I have life after death?
How long will I live?
Pastor Greg's message tonight is titled "What is the Meaning of Life?" The text is taken
from the book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 12 in the Bible. He will answer many of these questions tonight. He
shares that Solomon in the Bible was the "Hedonist Extrordinare" and made Hugh Hefner look like a
lightweight in comparison. This man sought pleasure at all costs. He was highly educated, yet he went
on unbelievable drinking binges. He chased after women like there was no tomorrow. He was an architectural
genius, masterminding the building of incredible structures. He was worth billions. He felt the need to
try it all, yet he was miserable. He had a hole in his heart.
Pastor Greg shares how many famous people today have shared how miserable and empty they really are. He
shares how this is how Solomon in the Bible describes himself. Solomon said, "Remember the Creator in the
days of your youth."
Pastor Greg shares how fast time flies. He relates that by sharing how when you're a kid and you go to
Disneyland, the first thing you want to do is go on the rides. When you're older, you just want to go eat,
then sit for awhile!
Pastor Greg shares that Solomon's final conclusion about his search for the meaning in life is found
in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His
commandment, for this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret
thing, whether good or evil." Solomon is saying, "Look, take it from a seasoned pro!"
He shares the story of the Columbine Highschool shooting in April. He mentioned Cassie Bernal who
boldly took her stand for Jesus Christ. He said there was another courageous Christian girl that took
a stand for Christ that day. Her name was Rachel Scott. One of the gunmen actually shot her first in
the leg and then asked if she believed in God. Then, like Cassie, she said "Yes!" The gunmen then said,
"Then go be with Him now!" and he killed her. That story was just recently told by her parents.
Pastor Greg shares that we don't necessarily know when death will come, but we can't escape it! He
says that one out of every one person dies! The statistics are pretty accurate on that! He shares that
we do have a choice though, we can know that we're going to heaven if we accept the gift of eternal life
that God offers us. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we can have eternal life. But the choice is ours,
we do not have to go to hell. We can accept the gift that God offers us. God loves you and will forgive
you tonight. You might ask, "Well, what do I have to do?" You must, (1)Confess that you are a sinner.
(2)You must ask for His forgiveness. (3)You must repent from your sins. (4)You must make a public stand for
your faith. (5)You must do it now!
The work of the Holy Spirit
Pastor Greg invites people to make a decision for Christ right now and to walk down to the outfield
here at Qualcomm Stadium to make a public stand for Christ.
Hundreds of people are down on the field now and many are still coming. The worship group, "All
Together Separate" is on stage now and singing "Come Just As You Are" as people are continuing to come
forward.
Pastor Greg leads the people on the field in the sinner's prayer, asking Christ to come into their
lives. He then instructs them that there are counselors on the field to meet with them and give them
a "New Believer's New Testament."
If you are a believer watching this tonight, please be in prayer for these new Christians, that
they would be rooted and grounded in God's Word. If you have never made a decision to follow Christ,
and would like to receive the gift of eternal life that Jesus Christ offers, please let us know by
pressing the "feedback" button. We will be happy to answer any questions and sending you the "New
Believer's New Testament" that is being handed out to the new believers here.
We want to thank you for tuning in tonight. We hope you have been blessed by the ministry here
tonight. Please join us tomorrow night for the 4th of July celebration and final night of the San Diego
Harvest Crusade! God Bless You!!
