What
is Orange County?
Anaheim/Orange
County has been called "Southern California's playground"
and for a good reason. Where else but Disneyland can you
take a futuristic flight on a star speeder, fly with Peter
Pan, float down the river on a steam paddleboat and see
all your favorite storybook scenes and characters come
to life.
Imagine only 10 minutes from this Magic Kingdom you can
experience the days of the Old West at Knott's Berry Farm.
A slice of Americana is what they serve at Knott's Berry
Farm-meander through a realistic ghost town filled with
authentic buildings or ride on a steam train built in
1881 and the real Overland Trails stagecoach. But Knott's
can also catapult you into the future on their state-of-the-art
attractions, rides and unlimited entertainment.
Your imagination will again be challenged as you attend
an 11th century banquet in the company of kings, queens
and chivalrous knights. The pageantry and colorful enthusiasm
of a night at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament will
long be remembered.
Movie stars are one of Southern California's hallmarks,
and your favorite movie actor or actress can be seen at
Movieland Wax Museum. Stars such as Leslie Nielsen of
"Naked Gun" fame and immortal favorites such as Brando,
Gable, Bogart and Hepburn are among their prestigious
residents.
The thrilling adventures of the Old West are staged every
evening at Wild Bill's Wild West Dinner Extravaganza ...
spectacular drama and great western music!
Also not to be missed are Raging Waters and Wild Rivers
two exciting water parks. Universal Studios Hollywood
brings movie magic to life as you experience tricks of
the trade and thrilling live-action shows.
Relive romantic cowboy folklore at the Autry Museum of
Western Heritage. Also, less than 90 minutes away are
the San Diego Zoo, Sea World and Wild Animal Park.
The average temperature in Anaheim/Orange County is 70
degrees Fahrenheit which brings with it a year-round outdoor
lifestyle. Orange County's 42-mile coastline has been
called the American Riviera. Beach communities such as
posh Newport Beach feature multi-million dollar homes
and the largest leisure craft harbor in the world. Laguna
Beach is known as the artist colony of Southern California.
Huntington Beach is the site of annual international surfing
championships. Orange County also has a vast array of
shopping possibilities, everything from 300-store mega
shopping centers to quaint boutiques. There is so much
to experience here-the fantasy, the movie magic, the Old
West and glistening beaches-the best of Southern California,
Anaheim/Orange County!
