Welcome to the final night of the Central Valley Harvest Crusade!!
Praise God for the beautiful sunny weather! Just a few minutes ago
the sky was full of clouds and it was beginning to rain! Now the
clouds have parted, the sun is out and it is beautiful! People are
continuing to arrive and find their seats on the field and in the
granstands.
Dennis Agajanian is on the platform now, doing a pre-show warm-up.
Tonight's musical guests will include the Harvest Crusadee Band
with Tommy Walker, Dennis Agajanian, Steve Grace, Sons of the San
Joaquin and once again, guitarist Doyle Dykes. Of course all of
this will be followed by an evangelistic message by Pastor and Evangelist,
Greg Laurie.
Right now Pastor Greg is on the platform, playing a 12 string guitar
with Dennis Agajanian.
Tonight's crusade is being broadcast live on the video screens
at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA, Pastor Greg Laurie's
home church, via the internet. The program will begin at 6:00 PM
Pacific time.
Pastor Ricky Ryan introduces and welcomes Tommy Walker and the
Harvest Crusade Band! The band opens with "Jesus, Mighty God!"
As the band sings and plays, the platform guests arrive and take
their places on the stage. Tommy has the audience give a round of
applause for the God who made all the clouds disappear! He asks
the crowd to join in worshipping our Lord Jesus by all singing together,
"There's No Greater Love than Jesus." Tommy continues
leading the crowd in worship by singing "He's Turned my Mourning
into Dancing." The band and singers finish with "I'm Not
Ashamed of the Gospel."
As tonight's event has started 1-1/2 hours earlier than the past
three nights, people are still arriving here at Sunkist Stadium
in Visalia, CA.
Pastor of one of the local churches prays for this event tonight,
that many will be welcomed into God's kingdom through the crusade
tonight.
Pastor Ricky Ryan introduces and welcomes Sons of the San Joaquin,
nationally known, and locally loved "Cowboy Gospel" band.
They begin with "Fairest of Ten Thousand." They follow
with "In the Sweet By and By." Their final song is "Oh,
They Tell Me of a Home."
Pastor Bob Grenier of Calvary Chapel of Visalia prays for tonight's
offering.
Solo Guitarist Doyle Dykes performs as offering is taken.
Pastor Ricky Ryan introduces Australian singer / guitar player
Steve Grace. He begins by singing "America." Steve Grace
encourages the audience to never give up on Ameriica. He says that
God has an awesome plan for this country, and we should never stop
praying for America. He asks Dennis Agajanian to join him in this
next song, "The Outlaw."
Next Dennis' band comes back on stage and Dennis asks everyone
to stand to their feet. Dennis plays and sings "Nothing But
the Blood," followed by "Lord, Give us America."
Next Pastor Ricky Ryan aks the crowd to settlle now and to remain
seated during Pastor Greg's message. He invites Steve Grace and
Doyle Dykes to each come and play one more song to prepare the audience
for the message. Steve plays and sings "This is the Time."
Doyle Dykes follows with his guitar arrangement of "The Lord's
Payer."
Pastor Greg Laurie approaches the platform. He shares how he has
enjoyed his time in Visalia. He thanks the press for tremendous
coverage of this crusade. He mentions that over these four nights
we have seen 40,000 in attendance and up to tonight, we have seen
2,300 decisions made to follow Christ. He thanks all those who have
worked behind the scenes to bring this crusade about.
Tonight's message is titled, "What Happens After Death,"
taken from the text of the gospel of John 5:25-29. He states that
we don't even like to use the word. It is the fear of the unknown.
In the Dome of the Capital building in Washington DC, these words
are written: "One Good, one law, one element; and one far off,
divine event to which the whole creation moves." Death knocks
at every door. One out of every one dies. Death is no respector
of persons. Frank Sinatra recently died. Linda McCartney, wife of
Paul McCartney, worth over 5 million dollars, but she stilll had
to die of cancer. All the money in the world couldn't keep her alive.
The Bible says, "There's a time to live and a time to die."
Death is unavoidable. Only those who are prepared to die are really
prepared to live. Are you prepared to die? We may ask the questions,
"Why do we have to die?" Long ago in a Garden called Eden,
Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. God said to him, "In
the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die." Jesus answeres
the question about why we have to die in the gospel of John, chapter
5: 25-29.
3 important truths strike us from this text.
#1 There is a final judgment (Acts) 17:30....
#2 There are 2 forms of existence beyone the grave (Rev. 20: 4--6)...If
you are born once you will die twice, but if you are born twice,
you will only die once. Your body will die physically, but your
soul will go immediately into the presence of God.
#3 The kind of existence we will enter into depends on your relationship
with Jesus.
There is no way you can live up to the 10 Commandments. But God
paid the price for your sins and you cannot wait until death to
decide to give your life to Him. You must make a decision for Him
now! There will be who go to church every single Sunday, but they
won't make it into heaven because they have never received Christ.
It's not enough just to go to church. If your name is not found
in the Book of Life, you will be cast into the Lake of Fire. God
does not send anyone to hell, it is YOUR decision to go there if
you don't choose to accept Christ as your saviour. God wants you
in heaven by going to such extremes that He died for your sins.
You can accept that forgiveness that Jesus gives, or you can reject
it.
Greg speaks of the Titanic, the "unsinkable" ship. We
know that there were not enough lifeboats, we know that there were
warnings, but they ignored them. You know the rest of the story.
All of their money couldn't save them. Some of the richest people
in the world were on board, but all of their money couldn't save
them. God offers you a "lifeboat" so to speak. It is your
decision as to whether or not you accept the "lifeboat"
that He offers.
You ask, "How do I prepare?"
#1 You need to realize you are a sinner.
#2 Realize that Jesus died on the cross for your sin.
#3 You need to repent of your sin.
#4 You must receive Christ into your heart and life as Saviour
and Lord.
Are you willing to do that tonight? I hope so. You come to Christ
tonight. You need Him! Say YES to Jesus Christ. You will not regret
it!
Greg prays for the crowd here tonight and invites them to come
forward to receive Him now.
As hundreds of people pour out onto the field to pray with Pastor
Greg now, Tommy Walker and the group sing "He Knows Your Name."
We ask that Christian watching this on the internet please be in
prayer for all of these coming forward tonight. If you are watching
and would like to receive Christ now right where you are, you can
pray the sinner's prayer with Pastor Greg. Just e-mail us (you can
