This is their first time ever performing in Hawaii. Lead singer goes up into the crowd. The response is fantastic! The crowds joins in singing with the band, "There's No Life Away From Him." They perform a few other songs and finish with "Supertones Strike Back!" The crowd excitement is overwhelming! 8:29 - Ricky Ryan introduces Crystal Lewis. She opens with "God's Been Good To Me." She follows with "Not The Same" and finishes with "My Tribute." 8:42 - Pastor Ricky Ryan asks the crowd to stay in their seats and prepare for the gospel message to be delivered by Pastor Greg tonight. 8:45 - Pastor Greg Laurie greets the crowd here tonight. He shares that last night, on the opening night of the Harvest Crusade here in Hawaii, we had 9,000 in attendance and 800 people made decisions to follow Jesus Christ. His message tonight is titled "A Second Chance in Life." This message is from the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 15:11-32. This story is the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Pastor Greg shares that he has good news tonight - that God gives second chances! He shares from the story of the prodigal and how when the son comes home after leaving home in hopes of filling the void in his life, and how his father welcomed him home with open arms and gave a party in his honor. Pastor Greg shares from his own personal life, how his mother picked him up from school one day in New Jersey when he was 9 years old. He asked his mom where they were going and she said they were moving to Hawaii. He asked where his dad was, and she told him there was a "New Dad" waiting for him at the airport in Hawaii. He said he was beginning to enjoy it here, made friends and having a great time, but his mom and stepfather had many fights and that marriage ended in divorce too. Pastor Greg shares how the prodigal had reached a point where he had "hit bottom." He shares with the crowd here that maybe that is how they feel. Once again he shares how as a highschool student he heard someone sharing at a Bible study on campus how you are either FOR God or AGAINST Him, and he realized he wasn't living FOR God, and didn't want to be AGAINST Him. At that time he received Christ as his personal Savior. He relates this back to the story of the Prodigal Son and how even though that boy had turned his back on his father, his father welcomed him back!! He shares with the crowd not to accept cheap substitutes and that The Heavenly Father is ready and willing to forgive them! He shares how God loves each individual and accepts them just as they are - come to Jesus Christ tonight and HE will make the changes! He says that Jesus cleans His fish AFTER he catches them! You may ask what must I do to be saved? You must admit that you are a sinner. You must ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and believe that you have been forgiven. You must also do it publicly. You also must do it NOW. 9:17 - Pastor Greg instructs those of all ages who would like to make that decision to make a first time commitment to follow Christ, or even a re-commitment to Him, to make their way down to the field right now. Hundreds of people are coming forward as Crystal Lewis sings "Come Just As You Are." As people continue to stream onto the field, Jean Luc LaJoie of The Kry sings "He Won't Let You Go." 9:28 - Pastor Greg leads those on the field in a personal prayer asking God for His forgiveness. Pastor Greg shares with them that the Bible says the angels in heaven rejoice when one sinner comes to repentance - imagine what a party they are having in heaven right now! 9:31 - Pastor Keli'i Akina of Hawaii Youth For Christ closes the evening in prayer. 9:32 - You at home or wherever you are, may also make that same decision to follow Christ. If you have made that decision, just e-mail us and request the same "New Believer's New Testament" that is being given to each person who has come down on the field to make a decision for Christ. May God Bless you! Please join us tomorrow night here at Aloha Stadium for the 3rd and final night of the Hawaii Harvest Crusade. If you are not able to join us in person, please join us once again here on the Internet! Once again, God Bless! |
