The Crowd gathers

6:30 - Welcome to the 3rd night of the 1998 Orange County Harvest Crusade here at Edison International Field, Anaheim, CA. This is actually the 2nd night of the Harvet Jam here in Anaheim! The stadium is filling up with thousands of young people as they prepare for this evening's Harvest Jam!! The line-up of musical guests tonight include The Kry, Audio Adrenaline and The Orange County Supertones! Special evangelistic message will be brought by Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship, Riverside, CA. Last night's Jam brought 33,000 people to Edison International Field with 3315 making decisions for Jesus Christ.

7:00 - The stadium is nearly filled to capacity at this time, still about 30 minutes from the beginning of tonight's event!! Pre-crusade video is being shown at this time - highlights of 1997 Harvest Crusade in Philadelphia.

Sing Praises to the Lord!

7:15 - Ricky Ryan of Santa Barbara, CA introduces The Kry. They open with "Turn, Turn, Turn." They follow with "Let Me Say" and "I Believe It." They finish their set with "I Can't Stop Thinking About You."

7:35 - Greg Laurie welcomes crowd and introduces Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, to open this evening's Jam in prayer.

7:40 - Pastor Greg welcomes back Audio Adrenaline to share in music! Their songs tonight include "Jesus A Friend of Mine," and "I've Got A Secret." Next, Audio Adrenaline brings The Supertones on stage to join them!!!! Both bands are on stage and the crowd here is loving it!!! O.K., now we're back to just Audio Adrenaline on stage singing their big hit, "Big, Big House" Believe it or not, The Supertones are out on the field throwing a football around with Pastor Ricky Ryan of Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara!!!!

8:00 - Now a video is being shown on the Jumbo-tron screen which explains how the expenses of making this Harvest Crusade are paid. Ricky Ryan prays for this evening's offering.

8:05 - Ricky Ryan introduces The Supertones! They open with "Who Can Be Against Me?" followed by "Resolution." This band is so full of energy! "Supertones Strike Back" and a couple other songs are performed. The audience here is extremely responsive!! One of the band members shares with the crowd that he went to church all of his life, but that doesn't necessarily make one a Christian. One needs to have a personal relationship with The Lord. They finish their set with "There's No Life Away From You." They ask the audience to help with this song as background singers.

8:25 - The stadium here in Anaheim, CA is absolutely full! Pastor Ricky Ryan asks The Kry to come on stage and sing one more song to quiet the atmosphere for people to prepare their hearts to hear the message to be brought by Pastor Greg.

The gospel is preached

Greg Laurie, is the pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship will be sharing the message.

8:30 - Pastor Greg approaches the pulpit and announces that there are approximately 5,000 people outside, watching on an overflow screen! Pastor Greg's message title is "Signs of The Times." His text tonight is from the Old Testament book of Daniel 5:1-9. He states that everywhere you turn, you ralize that things are worse than ever before! The world is a place on the brink of Crisis today. The Russian economy in on thea very brink of collapse. We're facing a Moral Crisis, not only in our highest office, but in our country as well. Kids are killing kids on our campuses today. Then there is the threat of Global terrorism such as what has taken place recently at our embassies in Africa and the Planet Hollywood in South Africa and in Ireland. These are "Sings of the Times." The Bible tells us in the last days that conflict and war would break out. The Bible says, "In the last days there would be wars and rumors of wars."

Pastor Greg reads from the story of of Belshazzar and says that Belshazzar went out of his way to openly defy and mock God. He gave a great feast for 1,000 of his lords no doubt in honor of some pagan god or gods. And while all this was happening, judgment was at the door! Pastor Greg compares Belshazzar's story to many people today. He shares that tonight you are being weighed in the balance of God. On one side is God's holiness, summed up in the 10 commandments. On the other side is you, a breaker of those commandments, and as a result, condemmed and guilty. Tonight God is weighing you in the scales and you are found lacking. "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." The scales of God are accurate. He does not weigh as we do. We might give credit for how wealthy or famous someone was or give them extra weight for good works, but God looks on the heart. Back to the story of Belshazzar, he was slain that night, without knowing God personally.

There is a last night for every nation and every person...a last meal, last statement, a last breath, then eternity! We area rembering the death of Princess Diana, who died a year ago. Countless books have been written about her. Most people remember exactly where they were when they found out she died. It wasn't supposed to end this way, but it did. After all, her life was just like a fairy tale. "Once upon a time there lived a young girl named Diana Spencer. Her mother abandoned her, and she was lonely and afraid. But one day the Prince, named Charles met her and soon asked her to become his Princess. All the kingdom came out for the wedding. The Princess arrived in a beautiful carriage, and was joined to the Prince. They lived in the Royal Palace and Princess Diana gave birth to 2 Princes, William and Harry, and they lived 'Happily ever after.'" But we all know that was not the case. She was involved in numerous extra-marital affairs, "Looking for love." She turned to psychics and fortune tellers to give her direction. She attempted suicide a number of times. And then, one night with Dodi Fayed, in a horrible car crash, her life was abruptly cut short. The most famous, watched and photographed woman in the world sas suddenly gone, "Just like that!" It was a nightmare ending to what looked like the perfect "fairy tale." Diana was quoted as saying, "When I was borned, I was unwanted. When I married Charles I was unwanted. When I joined The Royal Family, I was unwanted. I want to be wanted." Don't we all? What if this were your last night?

Pastor Greg shares that there will be no opportunity after death! He urges people to make a choice right now to follow Christ and have the assurance of salvation. He asks them to admit they are sinners, repent of their sins, and turn to Christ and ask Him to come into their lives. He makes an invitation and hundreds of people are walking out onto the outfield here at Edison International Field as The Kry sings "He Won't Let You Go" and "I Need You." Pastor Greg is praying with the many hundreds of new believers at this time.

If you are viewing this at home on the internet or wherever you are, you can also may a first time commitment to Christ or a rededication. We would love to send you the same "New Believer's New Testament Bible" that is being handed out to everyone who prayed with Pastor Greg here tonight. Let us know if you have made this decision for Christ by pressing the "Feedback" button on your computer. We would like to thank you for joining us tonight, and if you are a believer, please keep tomorrow night's final night of the 1998 Harvest Crusade in prayer! May God Bless You!
