We have been working in the background for the past few months, digesting the 2011 event, preparing our church database, organizing churches into regions and other tasks, preparing for a new work in 2012. There are more than 3,100 churches in Los Angeles County! Once the data was updated, we began communicating with pastors and having churches mark their calendars for this year’s Los Angeles Harvest, September 8–9. We decided to step out in faith once again this year by adding a second night. Last year was such an overwhelming success that we want to give even more opportunity for people to hear the life-changing message of the gospel. Having two nights allows for people to invite friends who might not be available on one of those nights. Also, churches that have services on either Saturday or Sunday nights could encourage attendance on the other night. Plans have been made with Dodger Stadium, and all the details being worked out with their staff.
It’s now time to begin visiting churches and building relationships with pastors. All that we do is pointed toward sharing Christ with those who need to hear and then making sure they are connected with a good church family who will begin discipling them. By having churches spread across Greater Los Angeles as partners in evangelism, we can accommodate these new believers with a local church. Please be praying that pastors and churches have a heart to work together in reaching the lost of their community.
