Pastor Greg’s invitation to receive Christ at Saturday’s Los Angeles Crusade at Dodger Stadium was received by 10 family members who, unbeknownst to them, have been prayed for by one family member in particular for over a year.
“I made a commitment to follow Christ in 2009 and my whole life changed,” said Jacob Chavez of San Bernardino. “I wanted my family to experience the same joy in Christ that I feel.”
Jacob invited dozens of family members from all over the Southern California region, and over 20 accepted his invitation and came out for the event, not knowing what to expect. But as the evening progressed, hearts were stirred and the invitation to receive Christ and recommit could not be rejected as thousands of others lefts their seats to join Pastor Greg on the field.
“I knew that God would change their hearts, one by one,” said Jacob. “But this is incredible.”
Eighteen-year-old Ray Sanchez of Alhambra made a first-time commitment as he joined his family in prayer. “I’ve heard about Christ for a long time now. I just knew it was time for me to do this.”
Jacob’s cousins Ruby Sanchez and Alex Aguilar came down in support of their family members who made commitments. “I was broke, miserable, so alone without God. He saved me and changed my life completely.”
Ruby is still praying for a brother, Phil who has not yet received Christ, but after tonight, the family knows the impossible is made possible with God.
And 10 hearts left the stadium last night rejoicing in their new-found relationship with Christ.
