A Letter from Greg

Dear Pastors,

In 2008, the Lord greatly blessed our efforts to preach the gospel. More than 178,000 people attended Harvest Crusades events in Southern California, Philadelphia, and New York City. Most importantly, 17,183 people made professions of faith in Jesus Christ.

As I'm sure you know, it was also the hardest year of my life because of my son Christopher's sudden departure to heaven. Every night I stood on our platform, I was surrounded by Topher's designs on the stage, screens, and printed material.

Many people told me that Topher's story moved them deeply and caused them to respond to the gospel, so I know my son shares in the reward of all that the Lord did.

Though our sadness is so strong at times, the Lord has been with us each step of the way, and it is our desire to glorify God though our weakness and point people to Him to the best of our abilities.

I want to let you know that the 2009 Southern California Harvest Crusade will be August 14–16 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
This will be a significant year for us because it marks the 20th anniversary of the Southern California Harvest. It's hard to believe that God has sustained it this long. In those 20 years, however, we've seen nearly 200,000 people make professions of faith in Christ through this event. To God be the glory for that!

Please mark your calendars and join with us as we reach out to those who need to hear of the hope only Jesus can give.

See you soon.

In Jesus,
Greg Laurie
