This is a text only page, designed to be quickly reloaded as the crusade evening progresses.

7:05 P.M. - Welcome to the final night of the Sacramento Harvest Crusade at Arco Arena in Sacramento, California. Tonight's musical guests will include The Harvest Crusade Band, The Katinas and Paul Overstreet.

7:20 P.M. - The Harvest Crusade Band is now on stage and opening with "Our God is Great." The crowd stands and sings and claps along. They follow with "My Redeemer Lives." Worship leader Hanz Ives leads the group in "God of Wonders." The group follows with "America the Beautiful."

The entire audience was given a candle and they all stood while the crusade band sang "America the Beautiful." They are now seated, the lights here at Arco Arena have been dimmed and the entire audience, along with the Harvest Crusade Band are singing "God Bless America." What a beautiful tribute!

7:43 P.M. - Pastor Henry Wells leads us in a prayer for our nation while these candles are still held by all those attending tonight's crusade. Everyone here holds high their light as Pastor Wells closes the prayer.

Bob Shank welcomes the crowd and introduces The Katinas!

The Katinas are on stage and open with "Mighty Vibe." This group is full of energy and the audience loves them! The leader of the group says, from the platform, "God is Good, All the Time," and has the crowd repeat it back to them. He then shares how their father, who was an alcoholic, came back from Vietnam and received Christ at a small church in Oceanside. This is a group of five brothers from Samoa. Their father is now a pastor in American Samoa. They praise God for His saving grace. They follow with "One More Time." One of the brothers does a verse of the same song in Spanish. Some of the lyrics are "Every time I hear your voice, every time I feel your touch, makes me know that I can face tomorrow one more time."

8:02 P.M. - Bob Shank comes to the platform and prepares the audience for tonight's audience, shares how any offerings received from this event that are in excess of the cost of this weekend, any difference will go to support the ministries in New York that are supplying spiritual help to those in New York City. Bob Shank prays for the offering and as it is taken, The Katinas sing "Thank You Lord." Video is shown of highlights of some of the previous Harvest Crusades while The Katinas sing their final song tonight.

8:10 P.M. - Pastor Louis Neely of Warehouse Ministries comes to the platform to introduce Greg Laurie.

Pastor Greg Laurie comes to the podium and shares some of the highlights of the last couple of nights here at Arco Arena. Greg also shares that his message tonight will be "What Happens After Death." Pastor Greg introduces Paul Overstreet, country singer and songwriter.

Paul Overstreet begins his set with "My Rock." Alfie Silas echoes the words. What a combination! They sound great together. Now the whole crusade band joins in backing him up. Paul shares about when he first went to Nashville and tried to write some songs and got into the drug and alcohol scene. In 1984 he looked at his life and realized how empty it had been, and he got onto his knees in his apartment and asked Christ to come into his life. He shares a song that he wrote, which was recorded by Randy Travis (who has just recently given his life to the Lord), "Forever and Ever Amen." Paul introduces his friend Rick Mullins who plays a banjo. Rick plays a banjo solo for a few seconds and the crowd loves it! They finish up the final verse of "Forever and Ever Amen." Paul closes with "Oh Why?" This is a somber song about the death of Jesus Christ and His love for us.

8:10 P.M. - Video is shown of the tragedy at The World Trade Center in New York. What a moving video.

8:40 P.M. - Greg Laurie begins the message at the end of the video. He shares that in the aftermath of this great tragedy at the World Trade center and Pentagon, it certainly has been a nation-wide "Wake-up" call. It is a reminder that even in America that we are not totally safe from the attacks of terrorism. It is also a reminder that life as we know it could just end so suddenly, so unexpectedly. He says that as a result, Americans are making big changes in their personal lives, prodded by two lessons from the tragedy: life is precious, and time is short. Pastor Greg shares that death is no respector of persons. He shares that sometimes in our minds, we feel entitled to a long life. We think we will all live to be old. But, he shares, there are no guarantees of this. For the Bible says, "There is a time to be born, and a time to die..." Pastor Greg says, "God appoints the day of our birth, He has also already appointed the hour of our death. The Bible says, 'It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.'" He shares that this is why we always want to heed the biblical admonition to "Prepare to meet your God!"

He shares from Eccl. 3:1-3: "To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up."

Pastor Greg shares that every wrong in the universe will ultimately be paid for. He says that if you say you don't need Jesus Christ, you will centainly face eternal judgment. But if you admmit that you are a sinner and you receive God's forgiveness, you may have a penalty to pay on this earth, but you will receive eternal life.

Pastor Greg shares from Rev. 20:12-15, which talks about how everyone not found written in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire. Greg shares that right now you are either for Christ or against Him. Greg shares a little about his personal testimony when he was on his high school campus and those words were said at a Bible study he attended on his school lawn. He always thought that he was a Christian because after all, he was an American, even born in California!! Well, he realized he certainly wasn't living for Jesus; and he didn't want to be against Him any longer, so he gave his life to Jesus Christ.

Pastor Greg shares, "You don't have to go to Hell!" He says that he knows that there are many here tonight who want to go to Heaven. He asks "If Christ came back to earth tonight, would you be ready to meet Him?" He said you must do a few things: 1) You must admit that you are a sinner. 2) You must believe that He is the Son of God. 3) You must repent (turn from your sin). 4) You must ask God to forgive you of your sins. 5) You must do it publicly.

Pastor Greg shares the story of a local attorney in this area who received Christ seven years ago at a Harvest Crusade. He has actively been serving God ever since.

Greg prays for everyone listening to this message and then asks them to come down to the arena floor to show their commitment to follow Christ. The Harvest Crusade Band sings "Today is the Day," as hundreds make their way down to the floor. As people are coming forward, Greg shares with the audience that you don't know if you are promised tomorrow, just like those people in the World Trade Center or The Pentagon, or in those planes on Sept. 11th didn't know that that would be their last day on this earth.

Pastor Greg prays with those who have come forward, "God, I am sorry for my sin, but I thank you for sending Jesus to die on that cross and to shed His blood for every sin I have every committed. Lord, I want to follow You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to love God and live every day for You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
