God has opened a wide door to share the gospel in Mexico, our neighbor to the south. There are a number of things we have learned from our trips down there that we desire to share with you in order to ensure that your participation in one of these trips is a successful experience.

What Do We Do There?
Our primary mission is to expand and assist orphanages in Mexico. We accomplish this through construction projects, addressing health and safety issues, providing help and assistance to facility workers, and sharing the Word of God through devotions and Christian love.

How Often Do We Go?
Harvest makes monthly trips to Mexico on the second weekend of every month. These trips can be one or two-day trips. For one-day trips, we meet on Saturday mornings in front of the Sanctuary and leave at 5:45 a.m. We return approximately that evening around 10:00 p.m. If we are going for more than one day, we generally leave Friday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and return Sunday evening.

Where Do We Go?
Harvest visits places like Mexicali, Tijuana, Ensenada, San Quintin, and Tecate.

What Ages Are Permitted to Go?
Harvest encourages everyone to participate. It can be a life-changing experience for the entire family. We only ask that parents properly supervise their children. Leaders cannot be expected to attend to children. Caution: for overnight or weekend trips, the minimum age is 13.

Transportation, Meals, and Lodging
A suggested donation of $20 per person per day is requested. This money is used to pay for gas, Mexican insurance for drivers' vehicles, bottled water and sodas, and one meal for day trips. When providing rental vans, the cost is not covered in the $20.00 donation. We generally carpool using private vehicles. Drivers must provide proof of insurance.

Overnight Trips
The cost for overnight trips is more depending on accommodations. Please ask the group leader about expenses ahead of time. Some overnight accommodations include breakfast, while other meals are not covered. Each person is responsible to provide their own bedding, towels, and other essentials, since we do not provide these items on overnight trips.

What Else To Bring
Please bring a current U.S. passport and a valid California Driver's License. Birth certificates or student I.Ds are also acceptable. If you are not a U.S. citizen, are a parolee, or have other concerns with U.S. Border Patrol/ Immigration, please notify the trip leader before departing church. You will also need extra spending money for snacks, meals, souvenirs, etc. If there are minors traveling with you who are not your children, be sure to have a signed permission slip from their parents and a copy of their birth certificate; you will also need a medical release signed by their parents with the name and number of their family doctor. In 2007, a U.S. Passport will be required by everyone crossing U.S. Border.

Food, Water, Clothing
If you have specific trade expertise, we ask you to bring personal hand tools that can be used to help with construction projects. Talk with your trip leader ahead of time to coordinate preparedness. We will provide water and lunch for day trips. We also make stops for snacks and beverages along the way. It is okay to brown bag it. We discourage bringing candy for orphans, unless there is enough for all of the orphans and we receive permission from the directors of the orphanage. We recommend that each person brings a change of clothes and a light jacket. Weather changes do occur, and we want people to be prepared. Overnight trips require a change of clothes and personal toiletries. Please do not bring donated clothing unless requested to; most orphanages have more than enough clothing.
