James 1:27 Convalescent Ministry is a Harvest outreach ministry designed to extend the love and compassion of Jesus Christ to the elderly in various convalescent and retirement homes in our city. This is accomplished through the following:
CHAPEL SERVICES:
James 1:27 holds regular chapel services each week for residents of convalescent and retirement homes throughout our community. Many times the elderly are separated from their loved ones and family, whom they miss dearly. It's the love of Jesus in this season of their lives that brings them renewed hope and reminds them of the friendship they have in God.
BIBLE STUDY:
Through long periods of illness, loneliness, and isolation, many lose hope and the joy of their salvation. We believe in the Bible's ability to restore that hope by the message it brings. The Word of God, directed by the Spirit of God, is able to bring salvation to the lost, and comfort to those who will believe.
VISITATIONS:
In order to encourage the lonely, we make personal visitations upon request. The touch of a hand and a smile from someone who cares can change the course of one's day. If someone you know is in a convalescent or retirement home and would like a visit, please let us know by calling the Church Office at 951-687-6902.
VOLUNTEERS:
This ministry would not exist if it were not for committed Christian volunteers, who willingly give of themselves to serve the Lord in this way. Each chapel service is a team effort consisting of teachers, worship leaders, and loving people who care deeply for those who need a touch of kindness and a soft spoken word of assurance. James 1:27 is a great ministry for people of all ages, in fact it's a wonderful way to serve the Lord as a family. Moms and dads are encouraged to participate together with their children.
