What is the Simon's Hand Ministry?

Simon's Hand is a ministry of Christian volunteers dedicated to carrying out the instructions Jesus gave to Simon Peter to tend to the needs of God's people. For the Simon's Hand Ministry that means providing prepared meals for families who find themselves in a sudden crisis such as an emergency surgery, serious illness, severe injury or unexpected death in their immediate family.

Why is Simon's Hand Important?

Tragedies often strike without warning. When they do, the initial impact can leave an entire family vulnerable and in a state of shock. The disbelief and confusion that may follow can be overwhelming. The desire of Simon's Hand is to quickly respond in a practical and compassionate way by providing warm, home cooked meals for families in our church while in the early stages of personal crisis.

How Do I Make Arrangements?

If you or someone you know in the Body at Harvest find themselves in a sudden crisis (i.e. emergency surgery, serious illness, severe injury or unexpected death), you can make arrangements by calling the church office at 951 687-6902. Please note: Because of the size of our church, Simon's Hand is only able to support families who attend Harvest.

What Are the Guidlines?

  • Simon's Hand is intended to provide prepared meals for families who are not already receiving assistance within the Body of Christ, here at Harvest.
  • All meals are provided upon request following pastoral approval.
  • All circumstances will be evaluated individually.
  • All approved meals are provided for 3-7 days.
  • Simon's Hand is not designed for funeral luncheons or extended family visits that may follow.
Volunteers:

This ministry would not exist if it were not for committed Christian volunteers who willingly give of themselves to serve the Lord in this way. If you would like to become a part of the Simon's Hand Ministry, please pick up a Ministry Questionnaire in the Church Office or at the Information Booth.
