Harvest Missions 2009
Our Missions Ministry continues to send teams into the New Orleans area to help with rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina struck the region three years ago. There is still much to be done.
In January, our latest team helped with rebuilding efforts at Crossfire Church in Slidell, Louisiana—the fourth church we have worked with. This evangelical church’s sanctuary was destroyed by Katrina’s flood waters, so the church staff has been renovating another building to use as their own facility. Presently they are renting a building till they can finish their own.
We were able to get a lot of the electrical and rough plumbing done on this most recent trip. We plan on returning to Slidell,
June 19-28, to finish the electrical and plumbing work and to start on the air conditioning and insulation.
The people who come on these trips have been so blessed to be used by God to bring such joy and blessing to the people in this area. It is always a great spiritual learning experience for everyone. You do not have to be experienced in construction to be used in the mission field. All you need is a servant’s heart, and the willingness to tell the Lord, “I am available. Use me, Lord.” He will do great things through you.
We have contractors we bring with us and whom attend Crossfire Church to guide us each step of the way, and who have been a tremendous help and blessing.
So, if you feel the Lord leading you to join us on one of these life-changing experiences,
e-mail me and we will get your name on the list.
In Christ,
Pastor Rick
