Meet Storytime Coordinator Alyssa Cobb!

Drop by the Harvest Bookstore on any Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. and you will find Harvest Bookstore employee and Storytime coordinator Alyssa Cobb faithfully serving the children of our community, leading them in singalongs, stories, and activities at Storytime!

Raised in a Christian home, Alyssa has been attending Harvest since the age of two, brought here by parents Mike and Michelle. Alyssa finds great joy working at Harvest because she gets to “take part in equipping God’s people with materials to help them grow in the knowledge of God and the study of His Word.”

She is also a longtime Children’s Ministry volunteer, serving in different ways, including puppeteer, skit actor, and classroom assistant. When asked why she chose Children’s Ministry, she happily replied, “For many years, I’ve had a heart for ministry to children and ministry in the arts.” She loves children’s literature, and after suggesting Storytime to Bookstore management, she was given the opportunity to coordinate it. It is clear to see from the looks on the faces of the parents and kids who attend Storytime that this God-inspired idea is a fun time of laughter, fellowship, and learning.

But it’s not just about fun. “Sharing the gospel is of the highest priority at every Storytime. Every week the kids hear and are reminded of the gospel, biblical stories and principles,” Alyssa says. “Childlike wonder is a great thing to behold. It’s a joy for me to take part in encouraging their thoughts toward the Lord and His gospel.”

Is God calling you to serve? Alyssa encourages you to get involved by saying, “Serve the Lord out of thankfulness for all that He has done. Be faithful in the small things, willing to serve wholeheartedly. With so many wonderful ministry opportunities here at Harvest, there is definitely a place for you to use your gifts.”

If you see Alyssa, please say hello. She would love to invite you and your kids to join her and her faithful team of volunteers for the next Storytime!
